Razer Imperator

What are your thoughts on this mouse? No batteries required, wired, high DPI. Is it worth the steep price? Can it be used in Snow Leopard with all buttons? And can the lights be turned off?

Lights can be turned off yes, individually even

But beware, the mosue has the PTE Sensor, which moves 150 pixels down and right every time you lift it. It also jitters very little when you use the speakers... Either is not as serious with palm grip....

Otherwise the mouse is perfect

For FPS
not for RTS

Fits all grips..

I guess I've just gotta remember not to lift it then?
What is this jitter you speak of? When using speakers? That sounds really bizarre..

I haven't experienced it myself with the imperator, but if you have the speakers (subwoofer) really loud, the mouse slowly moves randomly.

And the lifting issue is fine unless you play RTS or comp FPS. Or if you are a perfectionist, but then finding a mouse is impossible....

Lol well the subwoofer concerns are probably an issue for shaking anything really when the speakers are blasted too loud, so I wouldn't say that's an issue with the mouse itself.

Unless you are saying the mouse is really light and tends to move around?

As for perfectionists, yes, I would have to agree - finding "the perfect mouse" seems to be impossible, but I'd like to get something that works just as well for PC and Mac and has good driver support for both. If not then I can live with 3rd party drivers but I would love to find a mouse with full functionality for both operating systems if possible.

I've had the Razer Deathadder, Lachesis, and Imperator. Still have the Deathadder, solid mouse. Had the Lachesis for over half a year before it started to act funny. Bought the Imperator as a replacement for the Lachesis but it kept jolting to the left. I kept putting off returning it so now it's collecting dust in the box somewhere lol. I went back to the good old deathadder. I might buy the red Lachesis though to match my theme.

I concur.
If you don't care about wireless, the Deathadder is a great option that won't cost you $90.

OK sweet, I'll probably pick up the DeathAdder then!
It seems that there is a "Mac Edition" but it only goes to 1800 DPI? Or is this an old model?

Should the new DeathAdder 3500 DPI work perfectly on Snow Leopard?

I also like that this mouse isn't wireless, isn't bulky, doesn't cost $100 and and it just looks like a high performance and well built mouse for all types of usage, not just gaming!

The new 3500 dpi version is basically an imperator, slight differences

Get the old model with 1800dpi, it's better....
