Almost done, Have a few questions

Thread Starter
Well, I am almost done assembling my computer. My question is with the wiring. Shouldn't my molex connectors (unused ones) have covers? I didn't seem to get any with my enermax liberty 620 or my case, the TT Armor VA8000.

Wiring this badboy is confusing. I have a asus a8n32-deluxe mobo. If I accidentally misswire the led, speaker (case), and such, will it blow up on me? Also, how do I connect all of those 4 pin molex fan wires? Can I just run them all in sequence off one of my psu wires?

I took the advice of one the board members here and put the big typhoon on again. I noticed that it was almost perfect, just slightly off center with the as5. So, I did it for the third time, which should be better centered. I had to clean the cpu 3 times with isopropyl 90% Alcohol. Will that damage it?

Thanks

Yes you can. thats how mine is wired, including CC tubes as well.

Nope you will not do any damage using IPA to clean your chip, although you should use >90% solution if possible

Hope that helps

1) You dont need covers for molex, of course you dont want anything poking around inside of them, but you shouldnt have a problem...in fact I dont think I've ever seen molex covers...I'm sure they exist, but no one I know uses them

2)I highly doubt anything will blow up , but you may have boot issues and such if improperly wired. If you're unsure , just make sure the main ones are right...power/reset, speaker(for beeps),etc ...if you dont totally need your front USB or other front panel stuff then leave it unplugged. I dont usually use any front panel junk, so I take out all the wiring to reduce clutter.

3) If your fans are 4-pin molex and have power-thru (both male and female connectors), then you should have no problem...I try to balance power draw somewhat evenly among my molex lines from PSU, but do what you have to for maximum airflow and minimum clutter.

4) As long as you didnt submerge it, or bend any pins you should be alright.
And as long you cleaned it well and didnt scuff or scratch the surface.

5) NorCal eh? what part ? Mendo Co. here...
