this is a werid one

i recently replaces my mobo, gfx and hdd (well its the same make/model just with newer fermware as my old one broke and was covered under warrenty)

now the problem is that every time i start my machine up and it goes into windows destop etc my cpu will go from 0% to 100% load for no reason - if i leave my pc alone and dont touch anything it never happens but the moument i start useing a program or a game even "my computer" sets it off.
it stays at 100 percent for a few mins then it drops down to 50% and then 0 its gone and the only thing ive found out is the more cpu intensive thing im doing when it starts like gaming the quicker it goes - if i am looking in "my computer" it can take 10 mins to go.

ive done all the usual
ive done loads of spyware and virus checks - nothing
its been like this as soon as i installed windows before i even got round to installing stuff into my new system it has been doing this.
it just seems to be going on for longer and longer and once it has done its werid little thing it never happens again untill i reboot my windows

now at the moument my pc hasnt got much on only a few things which ive used before and i know are safe and theres nothing in my startup which is diffrent ether. ive allready installed once before on this new system before my old hdd broke and ive got the same stuff on their as i do on this and it never had this problem

any ideas

Get Ad-Aware and do a scan in Safe Mode to check for trojans, worms, key stealers, etc...!
Will that cure your issue.. don't know but it's better to be safe and know.
If you do come up with problems and clean them up, recheck in Safe Mode after a few reboots.. if they return you may have to remove some or all of the Restore files.

Download this Process Explorer.

It gives you a more detailed analysis about the processes currently running, a lot better then task manager. I will bet a million dollars you are having a hardware interrupt, then this causes your system cpu usage to be monopolized by DPC's (Deferred Procedure Call's). I will bet you another million dollars it is your 6800GS that is interupting your computer.

Try disabling your graphics card and see if you can mimic this interupt and dpc's. Run something like PCMark05 that always seems to spike these types of errors. (You can cancel after a few tests, at least before the rendering that takes forever). Enable your video card again and run PCMark05 and see if you get these errors again.

Are you wondering how I know all of this. Look at my system specs, my 6800GS is being RMA'ed for this very reason. My card is a eVGA so it must be something to do with the nVidia chipset on the cards. An RMA may be in order for you too.

I tried a fresh install of windows too and that did not work. I tried every spyware and trojan detector out there with no success. I guess I had some success, I did remove some pesky spyware.

Sidenote: PM me and I will tell you where to send the 2 million.

No problem. Ummm, I just noticed I post "try disabling your computer", and umm I meant graphics card. I edited, but just in case there was some confusion. Sorry about that, lol.
