Intel has enough FABs to put P4s in cereal boxes... Intel has no problem mass producing chips to make everyone happy. That is why computer companies like Dell go with Intel, they can produce enough chips to keep everyone happy. Intel is mass producing the Conroe already, they will have enough by July.

There is no doubt that AMD is feverishly working on their answer to Conroe. They are in the same boat Intel found themselves when AMD burst out. They have been relaxing on their current performance lead, and now they find themselves running behind.

2007 seems like a reasonable timeframe for them to answer back, the only thing that awaits to be seen is will it pass Conroe, or come up even? Will Conroe be a distant memory with 45NM quad core Intels being released opposite AMD's next CPU?

Who knows what the future holds, but one thing is for sure, we are the winners in this amazing competition of technology.

I'm not pulling my Y2K gear back out and hunkering down anticipating Conroe Shortages. Intel has been making too big a deal of the Conroe and the low prices to let a shortage hit. Shortages raise prices, and Intel has been beating the low cost aspect of Conroe too much to let it happen.

But again, who knows.

If they start giving out Conroe's with frosty chocolate sugar bombs though, I'm buying extra boxes

Conroe will be released in July, that is only 3 months away, or about 1/4 of a year.
"perfected it"? And the only netburts processors are the Pentium-4's. and I doubt Intel will be well on its way by then.. peh Intel bluff I say.. And Intel seemed to go to 65nm very easily and well, and AMD will likely too, or they could just release a new line.

Because in my most humble opinion it is most foolish to post something that has already been posted before here, here, and here. Not to mention discussions in numerous other threads.

I suggest using the forum search option in the future. On reconsidering, I realise that this is news about AM2 that has not previously been posted in the News section, therefore accept my apologies over this trivial mistake.

Paul has made no bet for you to take. When one states a betting proposition one confirms it with "I Bet" and there is no such proposal. Are you confusing Paul’s posts with:

Does this mean that you bet AMD does not have something in the works for this?

Regarding the view of Conroe release:

I personally would not bet on current probabilities one way or the other. This could be why I have not only a high Income generation but also a fairly well filled bank account. I was taught early on in my life to only bet on highly probable outcomes and this is not one of those in either ways.

IF there was actually a bet in referral (which there is not) and not in fantasy and if I were one of those who bet on outcomes in which I am not privy to any additional information then I would say the possibility is likely that there will be a hardware release in July.

This is predicated on the information that the mobile and P3 platforms have enabled Intel to R&D less on Conroe than on Netburst and Netburst was released at the stated time. Northwood was also released early on an ahead of schedule. Willamette was released considerably ahead of time so all collaterals contacted lead me to the proposal that the possibilities are good that the release will come at the time Intel HAS specified (see above link).
