And any idea what page? I think I'll have to go grab a Sept issue (or is the latest still Aug?) if that's the case.

This might be a good OCN blog idea once it's said and done...okay, back to work.
I've got the October issue right chere and it's not in that one. I'll have to hunt for it because with the fire I don't know where things like this are at the moment. They're generally next to my desk but I'm not seeing them. My bro might have borrowed them for something to read at work. Of course I could have my wires crossed and it could be CPU mag since I take both. I'm pretty sure that it's MaxPC however. Possibly the July issue. :mellowmsi

An no worries, I'm usually pretty easy going unless someone goes out of their way to insult me. Like the guy asking me if I was "slow" on YouTube because water boils at 100 and CPU's are generally long since shut down before then. This is an H50 leakage video.

I guess he's never heated a can of beans on a baseboard heater. When I was in the military I'd run down to the Base Exchange and pick up a box of Beanie Weenies and heat them up on the Barracks radiator. Those things never got above 70. If you don't open a portion of the can they can get hot in a hurry and burst in no time flat. Beans and Franks cold, juice scalding hot; all over the barracks wall.

But yeah I guess I'm slow since I had it happen to me with my back turned as I was messing around in my upright desk locker.

So anyway no worries bro, I'm good. I'll try to hunt down the issue that has the mod. I'll even take some pics of it with the webbie.

Heh, that's awesome and I'm sure, disappointing all at the same time. But overall, you're completely right. The relationship between temp and pressure is very closely related, and although I'm not sure what the discussion was, you can definitely heat something to boiling using only pressure. Especially for compressible liquids and gases.

Thanks for looking bud and I've got no reason to talk smack, but if you want, I'll gladly have a talk with a youtuber about thermodynamics and heat transfer. Though a wise user once said, arguing on the internet is like competing in the special olympics...one may win, but we're both retarded. biggrin.gif Not quite pc though.

I pointed out that if both fans were blowing in or if they were blowing out that it wouldn't take much for the unit to pop at its weakest point. Then some johnny come lately decided he knew better than I did because water boils at 100deg Fahrenheit, so I must be slow.

Yeah anyway I said "No but you must be..." and dialed it down for him so he could understand where he went wrong in his thought process

I agree with you about online arguments. But I'm Irish so I don't back down from a good fight. Generally they end with no bloodshed(verbal) but sometimes it turns out to be a good debate where someone learns something they didn't think of. Generally I'm not that guy. Not that I know everything, but I do use common sense. heheh

That's awesome. Especially since water boils at 100C (212F).

And oh, although I believe that about online arguments, I also believe that I'm retarded some days and dive right in. Usually just to toy with someone or challenge myself to make one of those fool-proof cases that just shuts everyone up. It has happened before and it makes me feel good inside. rolleyes.gif

It also help to know how to distract a thread no matter the argument. If it gets too out of hand and you want to salvage it, just post "BACON" over and over again until everyone gets along or it turns into an argument about vegetarianism (just can't win with some).

And since I'm avoiding this program that we need by tomorrow morning, I found the article in Sept.'s CPU mag on pages 38-40. You're right by the way, it really does look a lot like the ones from dd-wrt. Though I still hope to top them all devil-smiley-019.gif

It's really hard to find a mod that not many have done before and especially one that hasn't been over-killed yet. This'll be my first mod that actually breaks newish ground.

Ahhhhhhh okay it was CPU. Haven't found that issue, but I did find the Sept 2011 MaxPC issue and that obviously didn't have it. Though I still get a kick out of them using the latest Cosmos case for their DM project.

Personally, if you're gonna spend $600 on a case you might as well go Caselabs M8 or M10 and have them put whatever color you fancy on it. It is the Dream Machine after all. Not the "What I would have done a few years ago if we had these parts available" machine. My 932 is better than that case imho, only it's Black.

BACON!

Alright guys, I am finally getting my folding under control and I am looking to expand a bit. Right now I have the rig in my sig not the system one folding all the time. I fixed my client issue with Zodac's help also.

Anyways, I have a 955BE C2 laying around and I was thinking about making a second rig. What I was thinking is to buy another MB that would support a good Overclock on my 1090T so it can run bigadv and letting the board that I have run the 955C2 with video cards in it and maybe like an -smp 2. How does that sound?

I wasn't looking on breakin the bank on a new board but I want one that I can clock it back to 4.2 Ghz and not worry about it. You guys got any suggestions? I have every other part but a board for the second build. Old one broke with my first true over clocking experience. May i rest in peace!

i loved my old ta890fxe, was able to push my 955 to 4.4 on a suicide run. given the right settings i'm sure you could hit 4.2 with it. rock solid board, and it's cheap.

If you're gonna do 955 BE C2, use Linux. C2 and Win 7 don't get along too well.

You might check in Marketplace for a reasonable used board with low mileage. I know that's what I would do in your place.

Not gonna OC the 955BE much. Maybe just take it to 3.7Ghz or something. That is staying in the 890FX Gigabyte board. I am looking for one for the 1090T. I don't want the GPU clients to be sucking power from the 1090T. I wanna run all 6 cores for the SMP.

EDIT: The 1090T is gonna be running in Linux. Dont wanna buy another copy of windows.

i know you plan to run the hex on the new board lol. just going off my experience with the ta. the only time i ran a hex was on my 880 board. got it to 4.3 but that chip was crap. took 1.6v just to get that much.
