Who still holds it down on the AGP tip?

Right now I have a 6800 ultra OC. Is it worth considering getting a 7800GS? As far as newegg shows, this seems to be the only newer nvidia alternative for AGP. Correct me if I'm wrong....

You are correct, that is currently the most powerful AGP card available, it isn't THAT much faster than your 6800Ultra OC so I would keep your card until you can move up to PCIe.

I have the FX5600 XT in my rig. I want to upgrade to the 6800 or something of the like, but it will be pointless because in a few months I will be getting a whole new rig.

jbescup, I suggest you get a good PCI-E mobo. Your Epox isn't the top of the line AGP mobo either. And also, the PCI-E counterparts of AGP videocards tend to be cheaper.

yeah, I hadn't planned on buying it. I only ask because I already have the AGP mobo... my video card might be dead, I don't know yet. So if I were to buy a new vid card it would be an AGP one... but I don't plan on it if I can avoid it. Yeah, on my next build it will be a PCI-E mobo, but I'll stick with this Epox for now, it's treated me well.
