Just volt modded my 7800gt - Page 2

You guys are all wrong, they CAN be voltmodded through the bios. Good luck man, you got a very low detect optimal on stock voltage! Mine, on stock voltage, is stock 470/1100 and detects at 510/1160. I passed the coolbits test all the way up to 528/1180. I wish I could run 520/1200 24/7, that'd be nice. I'll try for it soon.

its probably because only some of the cards may have voltage regulators on them... if you want to remove the voltage regulators you can though....vr-zone.com

If you want to be 100% sure that you completed a vmod there is only one way, and that is by using a multimeter/voltmeter.
Anyways, I believe you after reading those guides you posted.

You increased the gpu voltage and it increased your memory overclock as well? Or did you do a hard mod on your memory voltage?

Okay, when I used to have my 7800GT BGF with no mod core and memory set at 490/1200 and scored 8323 in 3dmark05 and with hard solder I was able to set 3dcore 525 and memory at stock and hit 8755 in 3dmark05.

I'm not sure about the new 7 series cards, but I BIOS flashed my card from 1.1v to 1.5v using Nibitor and Nvflash. Before I couldn't get past 350 on the core, but now after the BIOS flash I can get up to 430. So it IS effective.

It can be volt modded thru the bios im using a tweaked bios witha 0.1v mod Regeneration from NGOHQ made for me and it works great.
