Case: Lian Li PC-V351 Black
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H (mATX)
Processor: AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Callisto
Graphics: XFX Nvidia 9800GT
Power supply: OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ500MXSP 500W modular ATX
Ram: 4GB crucial ddr2 (2x2GB)

Ok here's a little about whats going on, I have been out of the pc world for 3 years.
1)Is windows 7 better for games or what, I only play games at the highest of 1680x1024, Never have AA or AF, Ill be playing these games on a 22inch lcd with 1680x1050. I usually use like a fps config to get better Frames.

2)Its been awhile my last rig was a x2 4400+,with a 7950gt, 2 gigs. Is this going to a major upgrade in terms of speed?

3) I probley will only stick to Counter-strike source and call of duty -MW2.

thanks sry im a noob, I will be attempting to overclock this not to crazy, and of course hopefully get a extra core or two... .Thanks buds

5770

Ive owned these in the past and the 5770s are fantastic overclockers and performers.

And yes, Windows 7 is AWESOME!

more like overclocks to 5-10% less then 4890.and most 4890's get to 950 core and 1100 mem. but yes the 5770 is faster. gts 450 is slower then a gtx 260 if i remember correctly.

4770 sounds like x850xt of its time I see the 4770 going for around $115. i loved that card when i played alot of Return to castle Wolfenstein and of course wolf et.

off topic, I used to love farcry single player, hows this crysis, I keep hearing about it. I dont like FARCRY 2 for xbox the multiplayer is horrible , this was on xbox 360 thou

also i want to add, are u guys saying my cpu is good, and its the gfx department that is bottlenecking this system

With a GTS 250, I could only go on high on 1440x900...
