Thread Starter
i got my visiontek xtasy x550 from a friend for 25$

i overclocked it on air to this :
memory stock:250mhz
memory oced:372.60mhz
core stock:400mhz
core oced:502.20mhz

no artifacts im installing water cooling so ill oc more but si it a good OC?
what games will it play?(oced now)

I'd say thats a decent OC, but seeing as you only have 4 pipes regardless of what you do to that card, its a minimal gain at 100Mhz OC, to notice any gain in performance I think you would have to take it 100Mhz more at least..., like my x800GT with 8 pipes is oced from 475Mhz ---> 602Mhz (core w/ stock hsf). And the difference is quite noticeable.

ok overclock.

its easy to do with the ati tool.

if you can. get another heatsink and try to get more air around the ramships. (sink them if you can they get hot.)

i was able to get my x600 from 400 to 530 stable with a better heatsink though any higher i would need water.

stock hs your not going to get higher than 500-510. (which is what i'm running now)

good luck.

p.s. everylittle bit counts.

Seems a little silly to me to put water cooling on a budget card like that.

what do you mean?
just you put on a a GPU block that is more expensive than the card itself.....invest in a better card and then WC it....

True that^.

With what your spending on watercooling for overclocking potential, you could get a video card that eats your current one alive.

But it's your pc, not mine and computers are all about experimentation, so have fun. Plus, watercooling is a good thing to know how to do well, you'll appreciate those skills next time you build.
