I dont think there is an ATi silencer for the the x1900xt

You cant get an Nv silencer for the 7900's either.

Most site i've been on seem to show the X2's as the only coolers for newer cards, along with the Zalman Vf900-Cu

Idle temps, what about your load temps with the Accelero?

All the reviews I've seen show AcceleroX@ = crap. It can't even handle the temperature of the cards its designed for X1800/X1900.

It does worse then the stock cooler at full load, temperatures are lower sure but you can also lower your stock coolers fan speed for less noise and equally high temps and save your money.

Only thing AC has said is that the Acceleros are designed for BTX cases (who knows why as no one is using BTX and Intel isn't even trying to push for its new standard anymore) and thats why it doesn't cool very well.

4. I still have some Artic Silver 5 from my CPU, can I use that? and would it nmake a difference? and how would I apply it?
Does your case have a side fan? If so, you most likely won't be able to shut the door using the X2. The X2 is designed for BTX and sticks out much further than other coolers.

I agree, the stock cooler is very rough, but it may cause clearance/contact issues if it is lapped. If you are looking for an aftermarked cooler, go for the VF-900. The VF700's mounting holes are a little off for the x1900/x1800 series cards (it will fit, but it may bend the card since it will only use 2 mounting holes instead of 4 like the VF-900).

Problem 1, you don't have an x1800 so you have no first hand experience.
Problem 2, you cited no sources for your claims
Problem 3, you're retarded.

I own an x1800 and a X2 and just look at the picture below to see the results I get with it. It is a good cooler as long as you have good case airflow! When you look at the picture, remember that stock speeds are 500/495.

My sources are every reviews I've read on the Acceleron X2. I've read about 2 or 3, and they're very easy to find, the research skills of a 6year old girl should suffice.

You are the first person to ever say they actually get good temps with this particular GPU HSF. Do you have a BTX case by any chance? They are designed for BTX cases, and actually ofen won't even fit in ATX cases with side panel windows.

Why they would design a cooler for a case standard that is practically non existent is weird. They could've kept their older design where the hot air went out the back of the case, thats one of the biggest advantages it had.

Do I really need to own an X1900 to know what its performance, temp is like etc? Obviously not, your logic is flawed.

Why don't you just get Zalman VF-900CU, it is superior to Accero (sry i can't spell). And less weight

I agree that they should have kept the exhaust option for the card because most people don't have good airflow in their case. The fact that they designed the card for COMPATIBILITY with BTX cases doesn't mean that it is not compatible with ATX cases it just means that, hey, this can work with BTX cases too, not only ATX. I have an ATX case, a rather small one at that and great airflow, which is the main reason why I have such good temps.

If you are really worried about exhaust, don't get the vf700 or 900 because they don't have exhaust either! Personally I think this whole spiel about exhaust is very significant because video cards pump out a lot of heat these days and, well, even if you have good airflow it's just a bad idea to pump hot air into the case.

So, alas, I must bow gracefully and say don't buy either the Zalman or the Accelero because they both do not have exhaust. Wait until one comes out that does.
