That x1600 is pretty crummy as far as performance goes. I wouldnt get anything lower than an x1800 in the x1000 series. The x850XTPE trumps that card in performance, trust me. The only thing the x1600 has over the x850 is the shader model 3 support (which means you can use HDR in oblivion, even though the game would slow down to crap). My x850XT blows my buddies x1600 away.

Better yet, get a new mobo. And even better, get a crossfire mobo

Anyone who would rather an X1600 card (be it Pro, XT, and with 512mb of memory) over an X850 XT (not even PE) should really go check out some benchmarks.

Would rather a card that has half the performance, for roughly the same price, maybe for SM3.0 which would drop its comparitively low performance even more?

Well for the AGP bus i would definately Reccomend the X850 as the X1600 only shines more when use with PCI-E.

i have the x850 pro it rules i love it. I've had the card for more than a year now and it hasn't given me any trouble.
