my 3000+ venice overclock

Thread Starter
hi.
I overclock 3000+ venny, and I have to say wow.
I could hit 325fsb with 1.68v
but I decrease vcore to 1.52, because I didn't like load temp of 49C
(well that's still good but I just didn't like)
So I was able to hit 313fsb with 1.52v
But I'm using temporary RAM which is 256mb and pc3200.
I ordered pair of g.skill 1gb pc4000 ram
So I will see what will I get with these ram.

anyway, it's still amazing result
I ran prime95 just over 12hrs and stopped it because I want to do something else.
load temp is 41~42C
idle temp is 24~25C

I am soooo jealous. I also have E6 stepping on my Venice... I am stuck just under 2.7ghz, but I'm only on my stock heat sink. I'm thinking about upgrading to a bigger cooler as soon as my Geforce 6800 comes in. As of now, there is 0 room between the aftermarket cooler on my 9800 (Kingwin something or other) and therefore no room for anything larger than 80mm. I would love to squeeze another 100mhz outta mine if possible. Keep up the good work and keep us posted!

Get a better fan for the BT or better case air flow, if possible and that should drop the temp a few.
49°c should be fine though!
BTW WTG

does your RAM become unstable if you use a 166MHz divider???

at 310 fsb and RAM diver 166 your RAM would be running at 253MHz.

if you could use a 150 divider then your RAM would run at 232.5

good job by the way!

crazy OC
i have a8n-sli mobo w/ 3000+venice, stock cooling
patriot 2-2-2-5 tccd ram

the highest that my mobo will support is 285 fsb unfortunantely...
that oc is amazing

i shoulda went with the sli epox....

285 x 9 = 2565, im using a 266MHZ ram divider @ 3-3-3-5-1T timings, so my ram is running at about 180ish frequency or so

(35-36 sec superpi)
