Strange readings on CPU-Z

Thread Starter
I have a Win XP pro,Asus P4s800 2.4 MB Nv 6200,1g and so on
The thing that is strange is when i open cpuz and go the the Mainboard tab
in the graphic interface box at the bottom

Version.....AGP version 3.5
Transfer Rate 2x......Max Supported 2x
Aperture Size 256 mb and the rest

So why is my video card running at 2x instead of 8x?? and what up with 3.5 reading? my other comps read 3.0
I've tryed my other AGP cards and they run at 8x
I've tryed this card in my machine and it reads 8x
could their be a problem with my MB??
It seems to be running OK could someone shead some light in this for me

Maybe your graphics bios is corrupt.

You might want to remove the power cord and system battery. Leave them off for ~10 minutes and replace. Then enter your BIOS and check you AGP transfer rate. Set it for AGP 8X and save settings.

With your video card, there will be little use of the extended AGP rates anyway as you have 128MB of discrete memory which is why it seems to be running allright. That's because it is

I don't think it has anything to do with the card it self. It works fine in my other comps and has the correct readings.
I think it has something to do with the MB
I just tryed a FX5700 and it to has the 2x reading I've looked in the bios and didn't see anything that might change the settings. This has to be a new thing because I've had this board for a year now and I'm sure i would have seen this before now

I removed the battery, reset dates/times and all that good stuff. I have version 1.26.1
BUT if i take the FX5700 out of the P4S800 and put it in MY p4p800se the readings are correct. when i take the 6600gt from my comp p4p800se put it in my other comp p4s800 it tell me the same thing 2x
The bois shows 8x but still something isnt right.tryed other psu other video card a 6200 there must be something with the MB.

I cant call Asus and say SOMETHING is wrong with my MB becaues all 3 differant video cards are reading slow 2x instead of 8x so i need you to replaste it. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it.

Figuring out which cards are compatible with your system is a matter of understanding the AGP standards. AGP has three basic standards (simplified here): AGP 1.0 supported 2x transfers and 3.3v signals. AGP 2.0 supported 4x transfers and 1.5v signals. AGP 3.0 supports 8x transfers and 0.8v signals.
