I have a friend with a 3.2 prescott that constantly climbs to around 160f+(71c) all the time, and he's had that comp for a year now. The heatsink loosened one time, and he didn't realize it for about an hour, and the cpu was undamaged. Prescotts can stand a lot of heat. If, I were you, I wouldn't let the cpu get over 70c. 50c is very good for a 3.8 ghz prescott!
