D-Link DAP-1360 Repeater Setup

I recently purchased a D-Link DAP-1360 Range Extender to go along with my Netgear WNDR3300.

The setup was pretty straight forward. I first setup the extender as a repeater, then I entered all my SSID information including my passphrase which is a self-generated WPA2-PSK [AES] passphrase.

I also setup the WPS to link both the extender to the router.

Problem. After setting up the repeater, it works great at extending the range but the connection does not work. I can see my laptop go from 2 bars to 5 bars but the connection instantly brakes.

I've reset everything and also set everything up over and over but I am completely stumped as to what I am doing wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

go into command prompt, type ipconfig

what's your default gateway and ipv4 address?

When I plug In the repeater, I changed the ipv4 address to 192.168.0.51 and the default gateway for the unit is 192.168.0.50

standalone access points do not have DHCP servers right? If it does you might need to either disable it or forward it to your router's DHCP range.

that's all i could think of.

Ahh thats exactly it. The default LAN connection setting was set to Static.

I changed it to Dynamic and everything works fine.

hi guys, glad i found this thread.

i have same issue, but havent tried this solution yet. i have 6 IPADS and some of them have some intermittent connection, perhaps i will try this solution to make it as DHCP, i will double check. and will let you know some updates.
