Can't adjust CPU Bios settings.

Thread Starter
Good evening,

Well i recently "yesterday" installed a new motherboard.
After that it was time to raise my cpu speed.

But when entering bios .. i was confused because i couldn't adjust my cpu settings because they are all grey.. :s

And there isn't an option to make it manual..

i dunno how this could be .. i don't have a clue ..

motherboard is an ASRock K7-Upgrade-600

Greetings Hostile.

Is it just the CPU settings with FSB or what?

If the option is available it should be in the Advanced section.
You should look for a "Default" near it and see if it offeres changing to something like USER, Advanced, Expert, or something like that which will give up the option to adjust things like the FSB, vdimm, vcore, etc...

I believe that you need to set board jumpers to access your initial correct fsb. ie. 200/266/333/400 and you should be at 266 with your 2100+

Regard:

Then as TheDuke mentioned, go into your BIOS and in the "Advanced BIOS Settings" you must set the "CPU Host Frequency" to "Manual". This will allow you to raise your FSB incrementally.

Ahh, it's a KT600 board. That'll get you nowhere, as almost no KT600 boards lock the AGP/PCI bus speeds.

Wait i'll take some pictures to show it more clearly because there are several things i "CAN" adjust but there are a bunch of things i can't.

here are the pictures:

Edit:Then as TheDuke mentioned, go into your BIOS and in the "Advanced BIOS Settings" you must set the "CPU Host Frequency" to "Manual". This will allow you to raise your FSB incrementally.

if i do that then i can modify it from 100 mhz to something else but not those other options..

Edit2: Ahh, it's a KT600 board. That'll get you nowhere, as almost no KT600 boards lock the AGP/PCI bus speeds.

you scare me !

As said, check the MB Manual for a FSB jumper! It appears in the second pic your @ 100MHz. The jumper is at default 100MHz and you need to set 133/166/200 to get the option to adjust the settings manually.
Set host frequancy to the option which is uaually Manual, user or something like that.

I did that now

Thank you very much for that manual

now i got my original settings back as they were before on my other motherboard..

Raising my cpu multiplier and such on seems impossible

Can you up the CPU's voltage?
If so about 1.75-1.8v should work if you set the FSB to 166.
