Which brand MoBo is it? Some executables for BIOS update extract data to the floppy (A:\\) or the active directory. BUt I guess yours starts the whole flashing process. There probably is a command you can use in a command window to just extract the files (something like c:\\directory\\file.exe /x)
x can be whatever letter the executable works with.

Don't know for your specific file what they use... maybe someone with more experience can push you in the right direction.

Good luck

It's an nVidia nForce4 SLi - I'm trying to get the .awd or .bin file they have the bios in. The reason I'm attempting this is because I wish to edit the bios - the OC/voltage function is just hidden I suspect. Or, just a non-dell BIOS for the board. All I have been able to find on nVidia is chipset driver this, driver that. No bioses. This board is also I'm pretty sure a commercial individual product, too.

nVidia nForce4 is the chipset (Northbridge). Do you happen to know the actual brand name of the board (Asus, MSI, etc.) I think each manufacturor has its own BIOSes...

Normally, the executable extracts the necessary files automatically to a floppy, then to be used by the flash utility. that way the .bin file should be on that floppy... if I'm correct.

I'm using the Award BIOS editor. The BIN I got isn't the right one and it's flash utility would not load it onto the board (surface mounted flash).
