All you really need is Firefox with noscript and have the knowledge of knowing what to click on and what not to click on.
Also, the only sites I ever visit on my home machine are OCN, facebook, saabcentral, and prisonplanet. And I don't fall for that, OOOO I GOT A FREE IPHONE 4 CLICK HERE!!!! crap.
The last time I had a virus or any type of infected pc, was around 2-3 years ago....
Just know what to and not to do, and your fine.
I just downloaded Norton 2010, but that's because it SEEMED that I had a virus.... it was just lagg for some reason.
You really don't need Anti-virus.
2-3 years ago I thought I could plug in 2 monitors into each other, and my PC would some how connect to them....
I am surprised by this community.... I thought we knew that making the OS more secure barely works.
What happens is people get familiar with how it works, find workarounds and make a virus that does just that.
"Works around" it.
I have never not once blamed Microsoft for the viruses I get, I downloaded them, I did something I shouldn't of, and now I am learning a valuable lesson in what exactly not to do.
But then again, I am passive with technical stuff.
I have no problem killdisking my hdd.
Some of us do not have that luxury.Edited by HappyDave - 10/7/10 at 3:38pm
