anyone have 1st hand experience with installing water cooling or new HSF on a Sapphire 512mb x1800xt?

if not, does anyone have links to articles on this subject?

this thing is loud and hot, and it's kind of freaking me out

i dont personally have an XT but i have an XL which is basically the same but your has faster stock speeds (im sure its the same core), and 512mb mem instead 256mb.
And i wanted to clock mine alot, as i thougth the XL with new cooler would get the same speeds as the XT. well any way i opted for a VF900 and i must say it is very easy install, and and it is stupidly quiet, you get a little fanController that can be mounter out side the case and even thought it sits ontop off my case i never use it.

Im sorry but i cant actually say how much my temps changed for a few reasons atm,
1: because i have the stock fan temps ritten down somewere but i cant find them
2: because i cant re try my stock fan because after geting the Zalman i disected it and i dont think it works now.
3: Because i noticed that i lost 29C when updateing my drivers from 6.2 to 6.3, yes thats right, my idle temps atm are 34C at stock speeds and i was at about 63c with the 6.3 catylist.

So any way this aint much off a review but i can say this is very quiet and i will edit about temps if i can find them, also if your geting high temps then try up dating drivers, also one other thing is if you like ATI tool i can say that i cant use it any more, im not completly sure why but it just dont seem to like my card after i got the new fan, im not completly sure its the fan but it ironically happened after i bought it

The only Artic Cooler that officially supports any of the X1000 cards is the Accelero X2, and you gotta stay away from that one, can't even cool as well as the stock cooler. If you really want to have higher temperatures for less noise, lower the fan speed in ATI Tool.

Not sure if the Zalman would fit correctly (probably would) but I don't think it can handle the X1800 or X1900 heat very well either.

bgbop: i have noticed that you will not find one fann controller taht will work with the 1800 series (well mine any way) i have tried ati tool, ATI try tools, rivatuner and a few more and most off them dont even think you have a fan, but as you have the fan mate thing you can controll it but its so quiet its pointless turning down rele.

Also the Zalman will fit all 1800 series and 1900 series as they all have same mounting holes as foor a good review i would say google it as im sure you will find one and im now much help as i didnt buy it intending to do a review i mainly got it for sound as to tell the truth there aint any point me clocking this card yet, even though i can to brag about a higher benchmark score i aint seen a real reason to yet.

If any one else has got a 1800 series card and has a temp/fan control program then feel free to post up please as it will help a few ppl im sure, or maybe some ppl dont have any trouble with ATI tool?
