Crossfire Questions For First Build

Thread Starter
So i know a little bit about crossfire, it combines 2 video cards to make one really good card, like power rangers....i guess. am i right or wrong? my question is can i use 2 of these cards on this board, for crossfire, and will one be the master and the other the slave or will they both be equal? and can i use the HDMI port on each of them for 2 monitors? And how good will it be? is it even worth it?

I think you will be better of spending the $150 on a single card. Unless you already own one. I dont think cf 4670's will be all that great.

Totally, get a 5770. You can pick on up for $120 shipped through newegg. Better performance and it will actually be slightly cheaper.

I dont know if you noticed or not but that motherboard would run x16 and x4 in crossfire mode If your looking for a crossfire board look for one that runs x16 x16 or x8 x8 the x4 would limit the performance of the second card by quite a bit. Heres one thats about the same price but runs x8 x8 in crossfire http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131402. as for the video cards i would look at something more powerful as stated before. You can pick up 4850s fairly cheap and they would definetly out run the 4670 heres one thats on $5 more with the rebate http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-365-_-Product. If your ok not crossfiring right now i would definetly look at some better cards The 5770 is a great card for the price and would scale extremely well in crossfire later on.

You think that two GTX480's at x4 x4 are worse than a couple of 4670's?

hmm very interesting I know when i had my CF 5770's on a x16 x4 board there was quite a bit of difference than when I ran them on a x16 x16 board. Very interesting tho. (and no even at x4 x4 two 480s would own two 4670s lol)
