i think that was suicide picture. I.e. The windows was able to boot and take a pic and it shud crash. Why is that? well cuz the voltage didnt even show in ur pic. Means cpu-z didnt een have time to show the voltage u used.

I think its kinda extreme for someone to clock their cpu and risk frying it just for some bragging right on a forum and what should you care if he is able to get that high of a overclock? He is the one who has to worry that it is stable; sometimes people get lucky in their stepping or whatever and can get higher than normal clocks compared to others or it is more stable at different voltages than others, I have seen it in hardware across the board. My x800 r423 core w/2.0ns mem vidcard can do 590/560 which is higher than most but lower than others. Plus coming here and sharing the info may provide an answer to someone else's clocks not doing as well, or it could be all his hardware just works really well together. Just be happy for them and move on.

Not sure about everyone else, but I like to pass my old parts down to the next in line for an upgrade in my house. I'd go so far...maybe ludicrous speed, but not to plaid.

I read somewhere on the forum that heat and temps are not all that matter when it comes to possible damage to a chip.

An analogy would be like putting too much water through a damn...it doesn't get hot, but eventually it wont hold it back any more and bust.

I think most people are asking questions here to see what he's doing right, more than to see what he's doing wrong. If he's got a 3800 to 3Ghz, somethings going right, just hope it holds.

Wow how nice is that!!! Somehow I can't get my system to get pass 2.7ghz as Windows won't boot. I got an Athlon X2 3800+ (Toledo), Gigabyte K8NS-Ultra 939, 2GB RAM with Thermaltake Big Water 745 running at 41c.

Anyone have the same M/B can have me with the setting to get more outta this board???
