How come alot of the GTX cards have mini HDMI connection instead of reg size ?

Thread Starter
I'm looking at the 460 & 470 cards at newegg 70% of these cards only have the mini HDMI imput on the card ? How come don't most people use the full size HDMI imput ? My GT 240 is a reg size HDMI imput and thats what I use to conect to my LCD TV.

So If I get a card with a mini HDMI imput It won't work for me then cause my tv only excepts a reg sized HDMI cable. I still don't get it though why they change the size ? Am I missing out on something ? What was wrong with the reg size HDMI cable ?

For example at newegg they have 18 GTX 470 to choose from but of that 18 cards only 3 have full size HDMI imputs, this seems nuts to me. Do they have some kind of adapter to change from small to big ? I'd rather use one cable. Someone enlighten me. thanks

there are cords that are mini on one end and full size on the other...its a pretty minor deal and saves room.

I know it irritates me that they do that. I don't have Mini HDMI cables laying around. I got a GTX 470 for my other rig and it came with an adapter but my 480 didn't.
