DF-85, sign me up. I've already completed one mod on it - cut out some of the floor to allow the PSU some breathing room. I'll post some pics when I get off work.

Edit: Here's a shot of the bottom vent. I didn't care about the semi-stupid bottom SSD mount. Instead I plan on modding the top, hot-swap SSD bay for permanent use. I really don't understand Antec's logic in NOT having bottom breathers for the PSU. Anyway, nothing fancy, just cut a hole and put some mesh in it.

I came across this mod:

and I can't for the life of me figure out what kind of hinge he used. Or how the hell he fit them... he is being tight lipped about it in hopes to strike some sort of deal with Antec. bastage. Anyone have any bright ideas?

It's not in the hinge...he just got rid of the clasping part opposite the hinge? probably filed the clasp off. I haven't seen one up close yet ,but was already planning on doing away with locking mechanism when I get mine.

Sound reasonable?

edit: oops he has some sort of spring on the hinge side...my bad..but he still had to lose the clasp mechanism

I happen to like the fact. That my DVD drive can't pop open, just because one of my programs says it can

The easy way to open them. Is with your Right thumb!

Wow celdritch, that looks very clean. Job well done. May have to do something like that to mine since I flipped mine to allow better cable management for my water cooling. Great work!

Thanks Pali! It needs some minor touching up but overall I'm happy with it considering it's my first Dremel-type mod. I started doing it with a nibbler but once my hand went numb and I realized the gods had forsaken me, I said eff this and bought a Dremel w/ cutting kit.

Give us step by step instructions how you did that. I am VERY impressed and it looks very clean! What did you use to stick the mesh on? I demand more details!

Thanks! Well you see, I cut a hole with a Dremel then stuck the mesh on with double-sided 3m mounting tape. Sorry, I didn't take any pictures while making it. It's hard enough holding a beer and Dremel'ing at the same time.

It's quite easy though, just tape off both sides of the bottom (I used blue painter's tape), fire up the Dremel and following the inside line/indent. I will say that getting close to the "bend" was a little tricky but I took care of that by using the cutting wheel sideways in short bursts. *wear eye protection!*

An update on the wiring mess I had before.
Lengthened and shortened some wire (soldered) to clean the wiring up a bit.
Still find wire management difficult on the DF-30,the DF-85 looks to be better.

What it was like first attempt

Third Attempt

The ugly shot showing cable management w/ old XFX 4650

Also installed a generic fan on the window using a fan from an old psu rewired into the loom of the PSU (not in picture)
