Broken Memory Controller on my 3000 Venice??

Hello all,
I am in the process of trying to get my secondary rig up. These are the components that I have going for it right now:

DFI NF4 SLI-DR motherboard
AMD Venice 3000+ E3 Revision
1 Gig Patriot PC3200 DC Kit
2X 40 Gig Hitachi SATA's In Raid0
120 Gig ATA100 For Storage
Raidmax 420 watt PSU (yea I know, Im getting a better one)
PCI 16MB Video Card (until my 7600GT comes in)

Ok, here is the deal... I just set the rig up so that way I can overclock it, and see where its stable, then when my new PSU and Video Card come in, I can do a fresh install, and be off to the races. I just wanted to get the 24 hours of prime done with my overclock first!

I set the computer up and running, but it will only be up and running with Single Channel on the ram slots. It would first only boot up with 1 X 512MB stick in the first yellow dimm, *one furthest from CPU*, no matter what I did, I couldnt get it to run in DC at all, no settings, timings, or ram slots would make a difference. So.. I put 1 dimm in the yellow slot, and 1 in the top orange slot, and WHAM! It recognizes 1 gig of ram, but only Single channel (obviously). Then, I thought it could have been the ram. So I took out my 2 gig Patriot PDP LLK from my main rig, and tossed it in... Same thing.... only single channel in the top 2 slots. I then thought it was BIOS on the mobo, so I upgraded a few of them to the latest, and even unofficial or modded ones.... No help....

I then thought, what the hey, lets see how well it overclocks. So I set it up, and got it to 2.47ghz @ 1.45V stable. I installed XP, and have been running SP2004 for 2 hours now.

I cant for the life of me figure this out. Is my memory controller broken??

One thing that I did notice though, it might be the problem, but I dont know, so thats why I am asking here, is this..... I had bought the 3000 off ebay for a really good price, 49.99, from a person, and it was a very basic descripton saying it was a working pull due to upgrade. So I bought it, got it in the mail, and upon inspection, there is 1 pin that is broken off. On the details of the ebay auction, it doesnt state anywhere of the broken pin, so I looked in the packaging, and no pin in there. Could this be the problem?

I have been priming the CPU at almost 2.5 now, and no problems whatsoever, just the fact that Im not running dual channel. Please help me out here! I know I probably bored you all with all of this talking, but I need some expert advice, as I am pulling my hair out as I type this!!

Thanks in advance.

I would say throw in the FX-57 and see if you can run dual-channel with that processor. If you can, then it kind of narrows it down. If you can not then it may be your motherboard, or a memory module.

I was thinking about doing that, Its just that I hate mounting the 9500 back on, its a PITA to make sure its screwed down the right way...

That pin may affect everything but if you can run that i doubt it is that. I got an SLi-Dr. So you can't run in dual channel...(but you use 2dimm and 4dimm to get in dual channel)
If you already did these than I guess it is your mobo
edit: Dimm 1 and Dimm3 single channel operetion
and Dimm2 and 4 DImm Dual channel operetion. Damn Can't spell today
