RAM not running at 1600 Mhz

Thread Starter
I have 4 Gb of this RAM but cannot get them to run at 1600 mhz. the motherboard has them set originally at 1333 with 9-9-9-20 as the timings and at 1.5 volts. I went into the BIOS and changed the speed to 1600, the timings to 8-8-8-24 and the voltage to 1.65, but I get random BSODs. I have tested the ram in memtest, and everything was fine with it. does anyone know of something else i could try?

Read the third and fourth reviews on the Feedback page. They had the same issue as you. Contact OCZ tech support and see what they say.

Is your 635 a C2?
C2's are known to have trouble at 1600Mhz.
You can lower timings to 1333 CAS7 to compensate.

no!
all it needs is some nice warm voltage on the imc and maybe a tad on the ram

My C2 chip has no problem doing 1600. Currently my ram runs at 1500 with a small bump of the CPU-NB voltage to 1.22. DRAM voltage is 1.7.
