Try removing the card an wipe the PCIE goldfingers with rubbing alcohol as well as the mobos PCIE slot.

Sounds like the driver is crashing, generally when overclocking a card voltage will have to be raised as clocks go up, when adding voltage fails to give better stable clocks then it is time to find ways to make the card run cooler to keep going further.

That's true, but mostly when the driver crashes the machine will come back after a few secs and say that the driver stopped responding and recovered.. This is not the case.

I've also ran my card at about 105c once when I forgot to apply my fan profile and was playing Mafia 2 for a while and not have it crash.
When it did, however, it was at 72c and later 85c, so I doubt it's a direct temperature issue either.

Still I plan on getting that Zalman FV3000 cooler when it gets released in europe, as anything above 70% fanspeed sounds pretty atrocious

Just because your gpu was only at 72C doesn't mean VRMs or something weren't burning up. I had this problem after I took off the shroud and fan and strapped a 92mm fan to my heatsink, the gpu was barely hitting 60 but something else on the card was burning up. I strapped another fan over the area where the original nvidia fan was and my problem went away

Sorry, I should have clarified, the VRM was just a guess or suggestion on my part. I had no way of checking the temps as I don't think nvidia include a temp sensor on the VRM and I don't have a temperature probe to check myself. All I was saying was don't rule out overheating of other parts on the card just because the GPU is fine. Ouch.. Yea, those things probably get hot as hell, but as they aren't monitored I didn't quite pay attention to them

I'll get the Zalman heatsink before I'll push this card any further.. As of now I'm quite content with 750Mhz on the core anyways.
