what better my processor 530j 3.0ghz
or a pentium D 820 2.8ghz???
will a pentium D work on my mobo?

It should but it depends on your board revision. If your revision is too old it can be solved easily by ways of a BIOS flash to the newest version. So any way it goes it will work with your board.

A Pentium D will work in your MoBo but I would consider the 920 instead of the 820. Just remember that in less than two weeks, Intel is going to lower the prices of current Pentium D Preslers.

really?
by how much?
will the pentium D be better then my currect?

The 920 will cost the same as an 820.

Actually ANY 65nm will be better in terms of overclocking, specially going from a 5xx, 90nm. I have a 660 but not looking into upgrading till Q3 when the 960 takes the price cut as well.
