BF2 gpu settings.

Thread Starter
I was on bf2 all settings cranked to high and screen reolution to max and got pissed off with the jumpy graphics. Im sure this wouldnt be a problem for you guys with the 7800's or 7900's but for me stuck with my 12 pipeline 6800 gs it is. I decided to find the best settings for my rig using fraps as a frame measure. The first thing that i found was that neither the speed of the ram or cpu effects in game quality it is soley down to the might of your gpu.
I found that the settings which envoked the highest frame rate cousing jumpy movement were the dynamic settings eg light and shadows. Sticking these down to medium is a good setting as from what i can see you dont loose any quality. I also found that setting the resolution to 1280*960 is a good high quality resolution. To ensure total smooth playing i set two more options two medium i think it was terrain and texture analysing or summit along those lines. To my suprise my game ran very smoothly and there was hardly any noticable change in graphics quality.
So hope this helps any of you guys tryiing to find the best settings for your 6800 without sacrificing in game quality.

BF2 loves 2 gig of ram and if you don't have it available there is longer loading times especially with the settings on high. To get it to run a little better run your settings on medium and especially the texture on med or even low. Even 2 gig of ram running at 100mhz yields better performance than 1 gig at a very high speed. The best bet for current gamers is 2 gig of ram

You do really need 2gbs of ram...Just pick up some value, that'l do, or get another stick of muskin(If you have a single in the fisrt place). As long as you have a 256MB pci-e it'l will run high I think...
