5200 ovreclocking hits wall . need help

Thread Starter
hi . I am trying to overclock my old FX5200 from gainward . 128MB memory . 64-bit memory interface . stock speeds was 250/266 . I can easily hit 300+/380 , but I even don't overclocked the GPU , because the memory sucks . I get 75FPS on POP:SOF with low low low settings at 310/380 . and 73FPS at 250/380 . only two frames . not too good . each 10MHZ more on memory will give me about 5-8 more frames . my memory hits wall on 380MHZ . when I set it to 385 , its starts showing abnormal frames . is this PSU ? or should I upgrade the cooling ? if it's PSU , I don't want to upgrade it , but I can upgrade the cooling . my PSU is 390watt from a persian brand , and it has 14 amps on it 12V rails . my card has i big heatsink . now what should I do ?
sorry if I posted a long messeage with wrong grammar

You can usually tell when the video card has reached its limit when the picture gets screwy (White dots all over the screen, lines everywhere, you'll know). I don't think it's your PSU, the 5200 doesn't take that much power. Some extra cooling might help if you don't already have a fan on your video card.
If you did want some extra cooling, for the GPU core you might want to use this and for the GPU RAM you'll want to use this. It's completely optional though, you might only get a few extra Mhz out of it.
