If you can wait until May AMD will be shipping X2 mobile so the likes of Acer, Asus & HP should have these soon after....

Also be aware that a laptop showing an X1xxx GPU will show a Max of GPU mem which is 2 that of the physical ram installed... so an X1400 128Mb only has 64Mb or true memory the other is shared with the system.

If time is with you wait ...

Maybie you cant on older notebooks, or ones with intrgrated GFX.

I've disassembled my notebook, and the P4 in it was in a socket. I removed it. So if you have a 4yr old dell you cant but you can with new laptops.=.

You can upgrade the GPU, if it's discrete graphics....but I hear that the cards are hard to find..I haven't really looked though.

get the core duo ones they've got massive performance and i've got one and its never failed me once in its lifetime. mind you the life time is only 2 - 4 months and i have overclocked my GPU as well
