My super computer - Page 2

well its a nice computer,

but i STRONGLY suggest you maybe go down with your monitor and be more generous with your motherboard, those components...on that mobo!? no, get a dfi those are great great boards for overclocking, and the some of the best in my opinion for amd

you definitely need a new case, especially if you want a good oc mobo, good ones usually need an atx case..

oh and heres another worry, you need a good power supply trust me, especially if you want to power all of those components, and oc..blew out my old generic one that came with the case..just blew it out because it cant take the pressure, consider that too!

oh and if you want a great price on the monitor (if you dont mind some rebates, which i dont) this is a great site, look at the viewsonics

well i'm not tryin to break any overclocking record, i just want to oc to 2.6 to 2.8 or around there, and i'v read that ppl have gottne there x2's on that board up to that point. thats all i want. and as for the case i wanted somthing that i could easily transport around, so thats why i'm goin with that one, and as for the monitor i wanted widescreen for games btu didnt want to spend alot

gotcha but why not get the antec superlanboy its cheaper and i like it a lot im about to get it soon...Heres the link :

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129145

check it out..

and you really shouldnt get widescreen for gaming because you have to set awkward resolutions sometimes..i guess you could definitely try with that mobo but your options will be kind of limited

Read this article about widescreen and gaming... it seems that many games don't have native support, although there are workarounds

That Antec case looks good. You need a PSU with that one. May I suggest:

Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 ATX12V 550W Power Supply 115/230 V UL, TUV, CB, FCC CLASS B, CUL - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129145

And for MoBo (since now you can do ATX - I know you getting an ATI card and this board is SLI... but still..good board.)
DFI nF4 SLI Infinity ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16813136164

I know you're over budget. I suggest to drop the Soundcard and go with onboard for a while. The total will then be $1,576.96 with suthernkid's case
and the PSU and MoBo I suggested.

Alternative for the MoBo that saves money (has two PCI-E 16 slots, but not sure whether it supports SLI... it does not say so):
REFURBISHED: DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard - OEM (seems like you did not mind refurb!)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813136152R

If you get the SLI board I suggested, you *could* consider an nVidia card.. such as (saves about $80 on the video card - and I know, the ATI card is probably better):
eVGA 256-P2-N565-AX Geforce 7900GT CO Superclocked 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130282

eVGA has a nice stepup program, so you might be able to upgrade relatively cheaply within 90 days. (or just add a second one for SLI... talk about a cool look inside your case)

Well, take a look at MetalMan, need I say more?
I hear the BIOStar boards actually overclock quite nicely.
