Albatron 6600 GT (AGP8x/128MB) w/ ICEBerq5 HSF
Note: Nothing is overclocked, or has been overclocked in my PC.

About 4 months ago I bought a used Albatron 6600 GT (AGP8x/128MB) from a friend, it seemed to work fine in his computer. Once I brought it home, I had installed it, along with the aftermarket HSF (ICEBerq5) I bought. Once I installed everything, I booted up my PC and the lights on my video-card's HSF lit up... but nothing appeared on the screen! The monitor LED just blinked... and neither my mouse or my keyboard turned on... So I tried my old video card again in my PC just to see if it was my Motherboard or Video-Card that wasn't functioning. Sure enough, my old video card booted up fine, along with my mouse and keyboard. So I went over to another friends house and tried my 6600 GT in his computer.(which had even a weaker PSU by the way.) The same thing occured, the screen did not show anything and the mouse and keyboard did not turn on. I suspect it is a power issue... but really, what do you guys think is wrong? Thanks. Any consideration towards this problem is greatly appreciated.

Check to make sure that it is not a compatibility issue with your graphics card and your motherboard. I had a similat issue with my gbyte 6600gt and gbyte p4 motherboard. the card worked fine with my old k7 mobo but not with my p4 mobo. I then upgraded and worked fine ever since. sometimes these things happen, I can't explain it but I do know it is annoying. If you needed and excuse to upgrade, then now is the time.

Another thing to check is that the person you have bought it off hasn't shorted it out at any point. that happened with an old ati card I had and it worked okay in my mobo but whenever I had it in any of my friends comps (3 seperate comps) it either only had 2d capabilities or it did not let the comp load up at all. the lights were on but no one was home so to speak

I have noticed that you should still be able to power up your computer into windows it is just that you will get a big warning on the screen saying that the performance of the card has been dropped down because it is not getting enough power. It is not healthy but it doesn't do any immediate damage. (not that I have ever done that before...really)
