I am an extreme advocate for the MSI Hawk 5770. They are friggin beast, man. They run cool, come stock OC'd and can still stand up to a hefty OC from the user.

I just priced out a similar system, with an i5-750 cpu on newegg, and it came to $1,129.87 before $65 in rebates.

now im no cpu expert but it seems to me that the amd processors have higher MHz and are cheaper then the intel cpus
