problem with dual monitors

I just got done hooking up 2 dual crts to my x1600 (this is my first time trying it out) Anyways, one of the things i was looking forward to being able to do was chat to people and game at the same time....however, when CS:S is up, and i switch to the other monitor to type to someone, CS:S automatically minimizes....is there a way to get CS:S to stay up while im doing stuff on the other monitor?

just create another desktop...seems as if you are just using the Dual-view option...

Unfortunately no, what happens when a game is maximized and as soon as you go outside the window and click on another, you essentially make the IM box the "top" window. This in turn minimizes the full screen application

In reality it would seem like a good idea but after a while it becomes annoying, also running other apps hinders your graphics performance a little bit and with a x1600 you're going to want more framerate rather than talking on IM

I also have an old PCI video card lying around here somewhere so that i dont slow down my x1600 as much, but im currently just doing this to test its functionality....so there's no way to run it so that CS:S doesnt minimize?

You can but it's not going to solve the problem with one screen minimizing when you click over to the other screen

i have 2 pc's with 4 monitors but when playing CS-S i have the same prob.. the way round it wud be to launch CS-S in a windowed mode which i have no idea if its possible or not. But i have extended my desktop to allow 2 apps to run and the mouse to move freely

Hope this helps a lil.

really did....quick question though....is there a way to make the window mode larger? like fit the screen? seems a bit of a waste for the game to only take up 70% of the comp screen
post #8 of 9
That seems to be a problem on your side as mine works in complete full mode. Try in setting within the game. Set the screen resolution to the same as what you have youyr desktop @.

That was an issue i had with Eve-online.
