Network Dies on 4GHZ overclock

Thread Starter
Hello,

When I overclock to 3.990GHZ my network card dies. I know this has something to do with a setting I havent disabled in my BIOS but im not quite sure... Can anyone shed some light on this issue and the solution for it.

I'd appreciate any help.

have you got a pci lock? usually when the fsb or HTT is raised i think the pci frequency changes and messes tings up. if you can try an lock it.

At the moment i have the PCI cards locked i think... I ahve the PCI Synchronization Mode set to 33.3mhz.

BTW my mobo is an Asus P5GDC-V Deluxe and im using the inbuilt network card not an external pci card.

Well from reading through this forum I read a post how intel underrated all intel pentium 630's allowing them to run with a cpu frequency of 266 (2.990GHZ) on stock voltage. So off course i tried and it worked! But previous to trying this i got up to 3.7ghz with a raised vcore voltage but my temps were high so i backed off (the network was still running then). It was just when i tried the 2.990GHz overclock that this happend. If its realy important i can try see how far i get..
