Oh, ok. So...what about the difference between the 6800 and the 6800 GS AGP? (I edited previous post) Will the GS work w/o and AGP slot?

well thats unfortunate for you, but most of the cards do pretty well.... maybe you should RMA that one if you still can and get a new one that will probably perform close to mine.

Darkanlin, what motherboard do you have, brand, model?

And what video interfact slots do you have available on your motherboard:
PCI, AGP, PCI-E?

Thats not true at all. You can get SLI 7900GT's for only $600 which will vastly outperform a $500 GTX. You cannot play FEAR at maxed out settings at 1600x1200 with just a GTX, you would need SLI.

Ok, that sounds good. Is there a specific company that would make the 7600 that would be better than the others? I've heard good things about EVGA...but what would you guys suggest?

I would go with an EVGA, XFX, or BFG card. EVGA is a very good brand - you shouldn't have any problems with them.

The companies do not make the 7600GT. Nividia produces bare 7600GTs without any of the flashy stickers and images on them. Then they sell them in bulk to companies like EVGA, XFX, BFG, MSI, ect. Those companies then slap a cute picture on the heatsink, attach a warrenty, and sell it to you. So find the best warrentied card (lifetime) for the cheapest price. Personally my experience with Evga's custommer support is excellent, as well as BFG and MSI. Evga has the step-up program and a dual lifetime warrenty, making them a great company to go with
