Problem with K8N Diamond Plus - Page 3

I'm thinking you may have a weak rail in the PS!
I receintly went through two long used PS that has a weak rail and caused lockups and many strange things.
A good method to test with a miltimeter.
Extend a 4 pin moldex out the case with the side on as best as possible to assimilate the normal case temps.
Run OCCT for about 20 min to heat up the system and check the yellow/black for 12v and the red/black for 5v.
Since you don't have a multimeter what are the 12, 5 and 3.3 volts reported at in the BIOS and/or a windows based software?

Hey Duke,
My friend is letting me borrow his 580 watt Hiper psu (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817128002)

He dropped it off in the brand new box and I was going to set it up and there's only 1 12volt connector and online it says theres dual.

My mobo needs 2 12volt... its port is JPWR2

Any suggestions on that?

I feel like u are right and that it is my psu. Even though in bios they say they are correct, only spiking a few decimals, but in MSI Core center, it says my 5volt is 5.5 and 12 volt is 12.6

Which should I believe?

Is it time for a new psu?
