Linux hijacked my network adapter

Thread Starter
So tonight I installed Linux for the first time ever. I assigned it to my network adapter that I was using for my Windows XP install. My DFI board has two network adapters. When I went back to Windows, I could not get on the internet. The green light on my network connection was not lit. However, when I start Linux, the network green light comes on and and the internet works fine. I tried going to the cmd prompt under Windows and did the ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew but it could not find an IP address because the network adapter would not turn on. What the hell is going on?

I am using the Marvell one. I am not sure if there is any benefit to using either. So this seems to be intermittent as I am online under XP now, but last night I was not able to get online unless I was using Linux. The day before yesterday I went into the device manager under XP and uninstalled the Marvell Network adapter.. When I restarted Windows and it re-installed, I was able to get online. However, the following day (yesterday) no green light on the Marvell input unless I loaded Linux.
