Blocking Pandora Ads in Chrome?

Thread Starter
I've block everything else with Adblock for Chrome without much issue, but Pandora is kicking my ass right now.

With Firefox Adblock+ took care of everything with easylist and I dont' get interrupted in between songs, but Chrome isn't doing it with AdBlock extention.

I just can't stand getting an ad blaring in my ear when I'm listening so I always still have Firefox open with just Pandora atm.. which is rather annoying.

I will love u long time for some help +rep

Thank for your efforts, but I just tried to use flashblock and flash content isn't separate for ads and player on the pandora site which is kinda terrible.. whitelist is useless here. I repped you nontheless.

Just sucks that firefox can effectively block out the connection to the ad servers altogether, but chrome isn't able to. I was just hoping someone may know something I have yet figured out. Eh I guess it might to time to fork up some cash for pandora... but between Last.fm and Pandora so far I haven't had any need for paid services.

Any more help is welcome as I think it's prob not just me having this prob with chrome.

Yeah i think Google chrome ad-block is not that great... i think it only works good with YouTube. I try and see if it worked on the site gametrailers and no luck ...

I have the exact same problem! I couldn't find any other post on the web about this issue.

I found a bit more information.. when looking at adblock plus filters on firefox, you actually see what are the links that it is blocking :

/static/ads/*

the full link is :

www dot pandora dot com /radio/static/ads/.......

I tried adding that same exact filter manually to ad-thwart (or adblock) for Chrome, and it still won't block it. I really don't understand why.

Can you try it on your side, and see if it works ?

That's the ONLY thing that prevents me from switching to chrome!

Thanks.

Not able to block the voice adds but I was able to block the adds on the page.

To do this you can download Better Pop Up Blocker and check the option "Javascript Timers" under Blocked Functions.

Hope this helps.
