Computer Freezes have to do a hard reboot

Thread Starter
Hi guys. Well I came home from work today and I decided I was going to install ventrilo once I did I connected to the server and then began playing my online game. The new MOH. All of a sudden the game froze. I had to hit the restart button in order to get out of it... Well I tried again with no avail. Next I was just fooling around in windows and it froze. So now every time I boot up my computer it seems to freeze about 10 minutes into being on ( faster if I turn on a game). How can I resolve this? I already did a system restore with no positive result. Tomorrow I guess I am going to check the video drivers for the latest version.

Any thoughts?

stable OC?

My rig was doing the same thing lately, I took out one of my cards and the issue went away, but I tested each one individually and it didn't have that problem. Not saying it is for sure, but it could be your video drivers or something acting up.

CPU isn't overclocked. Neither are the cards.

In order to update my drivers, would I have to go into the device manager remove the drivers from there, then install the latest drivers? (Should I reboot after removing them?)

I tried to install the latest drivers over my current drivers but it just seems to freeze during install....

try to boot up in safe mode and check event logs.

run Memtesthttp://www.memtest.org/

and the appropriate hard drive diagnostic from this bootable CD.

I am going to check out all the connections and make sure everything is seated properly. Then do a hardware test on all the hardware. Then I am going to update the drivers on the Video/Sound. If all that doesn't work then I will try running one card.
