You won't be able to overclock that mobo much more than 250FSB, the nforce4 chipset just gets really unstable in that ball park, nothing you can do about it really.

I tried increasing the voltages to the north/southbridges as well as to the vcore to try to break this stability barrier, nothing works.

I found some screenshots on google images and altered them. I filled in my settings. This might help. All of these settings are identicle. The only difference is the font and color except for the pic with the qfan controller. Qfan is disabled, but cpu fan speed warning is enabled. Attachment 23852Attachment 23853Attachment 23854

angry mobo you might want ta consider this...
I mean you can keep on trying with all the options but mobos limit so much a lot of the time. My mobo is a huge example of limiting. But i did hear that the sli mobos arnt too good for overclocking

but your ram timings are looking pretty good for your pc 5300 for overclocking so i just think you should try to get the max overclock you can get with the ram timings set at auto or barely changed from stock because i got the best performance with my system like that, ive found that if i max out my ram instead of doing everything i can to do a higher overclock i get way better performance in games, and everything (just a suggestion)

only reason im kind of thinking really hard right now is because youve tried everyting, increasing voltages and such...

Ya... I guess I'll have to save for a p5wd2 and/or the conroe. I had it running at 3.84 stable on prime 95 and two instances of cpu burn in for 2 hours, but the temps went up to 65c. So, I clocked it back down. Well, thanks for the help.

have u tried increasing the voltage for the ram? once u get past 533 voltage is escpecially important to get the ram to thrive. also, temps, temps, temps. I notice glitches and othr minor hiccups on my othr rig {P_D805 @ 3ghz} when temps start hitting 55c or so. I have a zalman reserator h20 on my 630j and run it at 261fsb/ 3.93ghz daily. Not only was i able to get a highr clock speed w/ h20 and lower temps, but also a more stable system on lower vcores. Good luck, hope u make 4!

Hi there, here's what you should do to break the 4.0 barrier with your motherboard

1.Change the LDT speed from 4X(default) to 3X
2.Increase motherboard voltage from 1.4 to 1.5
3.Tweak both fsb and ram speed manually dont use the intelligent tweaker

I'm on 3.85ghz at the moment
vcore 1.47
vdimm 1.9 3-3-2-4
fsb=256.7 (1027)
ram=547.6

This is where my pc is stable for 24hrs++ on prime95 with no errors

I can clock up to 4.1 Ghz especially after increasing the motherboard's voltage but stability is an issue eventhough I raised my vcore to 1.55

You might consider getting better cooling or lapping your current cooler. Make sure to use artic silver 5

Hope this helps mate!
