Venice 3000+ E6 overclock

Thread Starter
How can I achieve higher stable overclock to 2200mhz?

I am using a Venice 3000+ E6 a64, 2xGeil 512mb value ram, msi k8n neo2 nforce3 ultra board, enermax 420 noisetaker, palit 6600gt.

I am currently rock-solid stable at 2000mhz using the following bios config:
HT:x4
Memory: Auto 200 2.5-6-3-3, 7 (aggressive timing)
FSB: 222
default voltage for everything

I was able to boot into windows using the following but I am not stable.
HT:x3
Memory: Manual 166 2.5-6-3-3, (non-aggressive timing)
FSB: 245
default voltage for everything

How do I make it stable? I am totally stumped.

Raise the vcore to 1.45 and if that doesn't work, add 5% more. Since it's value ram, you might want to set a divider.

Welcome btw

Thanks for your reply not2bad. That was a fast reply!

How do you set the divider? Is that when i change the ram speed from 200 to 166?

Also my voltage is 1.365-1.367. how do i change it in bios? by giving cpu voltage +5%?

Because there is another option in bios something like cpu vid whose default value is "Startup" and you can select some numbers.

divider is when you can set mem speed differently than cpu speed, in a ratio other than 1:1

I don't think there isn't a 3000+ Venny that won't do atleast 2400 on air.
We need you complete system, Please fill in your Systemm Specs via the USER CO @ top of page.

By setting the RAM to DDR333, 266 or 200 involkes the divider. Settings for that and other stuff is in the "CELL menu."

Yep changing it from 200 to 166 is setting a divder. The vid is what you should change to 1.45. It's all in the cell menu as Duke said. You should flash to 1.C modded bios by Sideeffects. He changed the menu so it's so much simplier.

GET a POST in the AMD BIOS section
Something like ...
MSI K8N NEO2 ... BIOS MOD link

BTW... that is about the looking BIOS I've ever seen, no wonder someone made it simpler.

Hehe, you're right. The cell menu is confusing. I flashed the bios using msi update utility to 1.B under windows. But I don't have a diskette drive installed cause I have a lot of trouble with floppies working. Will install it when i get home. Will look into the bios section. Thanks for all your advise.

thanks duke, not2bad and everyone who replied. Got what I wanted-
2.2ghz rock solid stable.
You're all right, Its the voltage. I upped it +5 no go, another +5 ok!!

One of the reasons I didn't try it before was because I was too scared to mess with voltage because of the red warning that's flashing in the bios.
Now I'm at 1.552v from 1.393
Attached are my cpu-z voltage and other settings like ram.
I used a 166 memory divider btw.

However, I get the feeling that one is never satisfied. Anyways its a huge success. Time to celebrate!!!
