NCSA is right on the money!! Always use identical disk's, othervise you will see lesser results.

I don't think many people can fully use 4xRaid-0. It's simply overkill.

Raid-0 on 2 disk's gives a significant boost, if done right. Not just 10% more like 80-100% on most apps.

Tjeck out a Raid-0 test in my Sig.

Well i dont know all that much RAID but i do know this if you have all those Drives on a RAID 0 setup and One fails all shall fail and that would be lame.

The benifit of RAID0 and applications widely varys. I'ts of very little value in gaming, especially if you have 2G or more of RAM being you either seldom utilize the swap file on the HDDs or not at all by disableing it. Other programs do however gain moderatly to substantialy.
An older RAID0 article from anandtech. The only thing I wholly disagree on in the article is in the conclusion where it stated RAID0 has no place in a desktop

Yes it sertainly works well on desktops. Everyting flows smoother, and wait/hang time virtually dosn't exist.

It's a huge improvement going from an old ATA disk, to a SATA Raid-0 array. Period!!
