I think my computer has narcolepsy. It absolutely refuses to sleep. I turned off all the settings in the bios that say "turn on when/with" changed the suspend type to option 1 and disabled all devices through device manager. Anybody have any ideas?

You've checked Control Panel / Power Options? If not immediately visible write it into the search bar...

Yea, I'm not sure why it won't sleep but I hit up Gigabyte and hopefully they'll come through. Moving on, I'm re-overclocking my system tonight. Here's some info:

Attachment 205170
Attachment 205171

Ok, I have all energy saving disabled (eist, c1e, etc.). HT and Turbo are on. I ran Prime 95 and it BSOD'd me after about 10 minutes. My cpu voltage is 1.38125v in BIOS but CPU-Z picks it up as 1.36 and my QPI is auto (1.175v). Oh and what load line calibration should I use? It's at auto right now.

Should I up my QPI or CPU voltage? Also are there any danger in running those temperatures regularly?

Appreciate the help guys

Voltage reading lower than bios is vdrop/vdroop, and llc is to offset this.
With 12GB of ram you will need higher QPI/VTT than someone with 6GB, possibly around 1.35v...

Quote:
BSOD codes for overclocking
0x101 = increase vcore
0x124 = increase/decrease vcore or QPI/VTT...have to test to see which one it is
0x0A = unstable RAM/IMC, increase QPI first, if that doesn't work increase vcore
0x1E = increase vcore
0x3B = increase vcore
0x3D = increase vcore
0xD1 = QPI/VTT, increase/decrease as necessary
0x9C = QPI/VTT most likely, but increasing vcore has helped in some instances
0x50 = RAM timings/Frequency or uncore multi unstable, increase RAM voltage or adjust QPI/VTT, or lower uncore if you're higher than 2x
0x109 = Not enough or too Much memory voltage
0x116 = Low IOH (NB) voltage, GPU issue (most common when running multi-GPU/overclocking GPU)
0x7E = Corrupted OS file, possibly from overclocking. Run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r

Ok, do you think the turbo boost is what is making this unstable? I notice you have it disabled. And as far as the temps, are those within oc norm? Are they ok all the time?

Turbo boost off. I avoid its cpu multi changing when overclocked.
Nothing too radical in your temps. (Higher than AMD is normal) You've got a Tjmax of 100C. Intel talk of avoiding sustained temps over 72 I think, but that implies that P95 of 78 is ok, because hardly anything duplicates the temps of stress testing, so usually you would be below 75....

Temps on multi core chips are not very precise, especially idle temps. "Temps" are more about how far from throttling a cpu is than about accuracy.
Real Temp - New temp program for Intel Core processors
That extremesystems thread on the development of Real Temp explains it well.

Even so, you can be 20 degrees or more away from throttling and still have instability.

Cool, good info thanks. Right now I changed the Vdroop to level 1 and disabled Turbo.

Attachment 205173

Attachment 205174

I was at 1.38v for the cpu and got like 13 minutes before BSOD'd from Prime 95. I bumped it one notch 1.9...v and we'll see what's what. I upped my QPI also to 1.275v. My temps during Prime were low 80's, Kinda scary.
