Tigerpaws, there are a few things you can do to help with getting a high CPU-Z validation.
Go to the download section here at OCN and get SetFSB and find your ICS # that matches your board, take some practice runs at low clocks to learn how to use it.
Use the "F7" feature that CPU-Z has, as long as you are clicked on the CPU-Z program, if you hit F7 it will save the validation file in its program file. Mine is at C:\\Program Files\\CPUID\\CPU-Z
Last thing, shut off unneeded processes and services. Anything you can do to put less stress on the CPU when trying to validate will help. Good luck!
I check out where the crystal is, mine is ICS9LPRS916JKLF its the ws pro
Found this one i tested
And tested this one too, it almost the same.
You think its cause there is a difference in the chip? I did try hard, i know its not stable at 210, but i can push a few extra mhz with turbov but a instant lockup with setfsb(plus i allowed enough vcore @ 210 to go up that 1 mhz, and with stock bclk 210) but locks up when trying to read the mhz before i set it
Can get 211 and 212 with turbov but very unstable. also went though all settings to try lowering any thing i can, but cant get any extra out of it. Its Ambient 20c now and its needing extra vcore by about .0125-.1875 @ 210, its getting very thirsty with vcore beyond here, oh how much i just want 0.02 more nb, i feel i could go a fair bit more, but i think i might not get to find out
Oh mate never new i could do that with F7, dam dream now with so little load to do that
I used Autoruns to stop every thing from starting up, uninstalled nod32 since i cant stop it's service. I was thinking about in time to come getting 2 more hard drives and rigging this board up with just xp x64
Next run i do i'll rid everything i dont need, no Capture card, only 2 sticks ram, and get rid of 3 hard drives
Thanks for the great tips there mate, i'll have to do the 212 again cause it says corrupted
Im no pro, i think im noob at oc, still learning a lot, any tips or any thing wrong be greatly appreaciated
Had to edit and add might not be relevant(unless pushing it) but i got no error code for 0x1A, i got that dropping the sb volt only, bclk 210. Googling it says ram. Every volt i have cant be lowered checking each one individuallyEdited by Tigerpaws - 8/2/11 at 11:38pm
