Yes, create two profiles, one with HT on and one with it off.

Not sure your BIOS has it but most of them can do many profiles in the BIOS so you can set like 3.8 HT and 4.2 HT off or whatever you want.
Look around in the BIOS and you should find it.

So if I turn ht off it should run cooler?
So I prob could OC to 4.0 with HT off and run same or lower temps then 3.8 ht on?

74c under stress test i wouldn't worry about. In normal operation you won't get near that. Even if you did, you are still safe. I don't worry till I hit 79 stress testing, but if its only briefly, i figure I'm about as high as I can go for the cooling I've got. That's just my opinion, not gospel. everyone has their own boundaries for their own reasons...biggrin.gif

HT off does give lower temps, but less threads. In most things that may not matter.

well i turnd of HT and hit 60*c at 100% load
so what do u think in ur opion should i do....3.8ghz with HT or try for 4-4.2 HT off?

p.s. i mite go buy the 4-6 extra fans tommorow so that will lower case temps a fair bit from what others with hotter temps r saying...and im also getting better fans then what they listed.

edited....i was able to select 1.65v for my ram so i did....the guide said thats the number but asus boards skip 1.65? so he said take 1.64 or 1.66....
and my ram is at 9-9-9-24 and its at 1451mhz should i bump it up or what?

Well, we're speed fiends...like we see how fast we can get things to run, but if it's a 24/7 OC you're looking for, about 4GHz is just under where temps and voltages really climb, usually. i say usually because not all chips are the same, and that becomes more obvious with overclocking. some chips run hot, some chips run at lower voltages, and some are average...

1.64, 1.66 - it's a gnat's whisker, and if you read it off the measuring points it probably wouldn't match the setting anyway. Not something to get fussed over in my opinion.

The downside to faster fans is more noise. One stage I bought some Ultra Kaze 133cfm fans, and they were really loud...rolleyes.gif
