Yeah, like I said earlier it's great to be at a low voltage on these particular chips. I've been overclocking since the mid 90s and have had hundreds of chips pass through my hands and can only call a few of them cherry. Also back in the mid nineties I built my first water block out of 1/8 inch copper sheet and it came out ok and didn't leak so that was passable. Back in that day no one was selling water blocks as a matter of fact there weren't very many web sites period but I did find one guy who had instructions on how to build it. Back in the late 90s there was the Peter Trapp computer show that would stop through here in Syracuse about once a month during winter. I used to go down there with a ton of money and by a lot of chips and bring them back to my house and start testing them to see if I could find any good batches and there was one mother of them all, the Celeron socket 366 chip. I found a batch this guy had at the computer show. Brought them home and start clocking them with my Abit boards and lo and behold 744 MHz all three chips did. I flew back to the computer show bought every one he had. He had 6 left so I snagged them. I came back home and started clocking them again, all of them except for one would do 700 plus. This is the last and only time I was ever able to achieve a 100% overclock and man it was exciting. Seven out of the nine processes I bought all did 100% clock. Back in that day Overclockers.com was just getting their feet wet and you could sell pretty much anything you wanted to without restriction. But that didn't last long for all the scum bag, ripoff thieves started to pile in and ruined it for everybody that was honest. It never fails anytime you have that kind of freedom corruption always follows behind. And thanks for starting this great 950 thread

If you would like to be listed here, post and please include in your post where possible, Batch Number, and at least a CPU-Z validation URL in your Overclock.net UserName. (When u do a CPU-Z validation, just put your Overclock.net name in the "Name" field instead of your "Computer Name" in between clicking "validate" and "submit".)

I picked up a cheap 950 a few weeks ago. Decided to see how it ran during a 3dMark05 comp and was quite impressed. Managed to do this with a H80 cooler lol.

Hi,

I've got an i7 950, OCed quite highly right now (see my PROOF? link in my sig); it just bluescreened though and I remember someone saying that there was a correlation between the bluescreen code and what needs to be changed. Here's the data:
Code:
Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name:   BlueScreen
  OS Version:   6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.4
  Locale ID:    1033

Additional information about the problem:
  BCCode:       124
  BCP1: 0000000000000000
  BCP2: FFFFFA800E6318F8
  BCP3: 0000000000000000
  BCP4: 0000000000000000
  OS Version:   6_1_7601
  Service Pack: 1_0
  Product:      256_1

Can anyone point me to the thing I should look at first? smile.gif

BSOD codes for overclocking 1366
0x101 = increase vcore
0x124 = increase/decrease vcore or QPI/VTT...have to test to see which one it is
0x0A = unstable RAM/IMC, increase QPI first, if that doesn't work increase vcore
0x1E = increase vcore
0x3B = increase vcore
0x3D = increase vcore
0xD1 = QPI/VTT, increase/decrease as necessary
0x9C = QPI/VTT most likely, but increasing vcore has helped in some instances
0x50 = RAM timings/Frequency or uncore multi unstable, increase RAM voltage or adjust QPI/VTT, or lower uncore if you're higher than 2x
0x109 = Not enough or too Much memory voltage
0x116 = Low IOH (NB) voltage, GPU issue (most common when running multi-GPU/overclocking GPU)
0x7E = Corrupted OS file, possibly from overclocking. Run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r
