Definitely use LinX or IBT it will put more stress on the cpu and produce more heat but works much faster. If you can pass 50 runs you are golden. That takes about 3 hours.

But as you are working on your OC you can do a 3 run test as you adjust things and it will let you know quickly if you are on the right track.

10 runs takes like 90 minutes on my system. Maybe cause I do maximum memory.

Anyways I bumped up vcore 1 notch, bsod upon starting IBT. Bumped up 2 more notches. Same thing, that was at 1.275 in the bios. What voltage is related to bclck anyone know?

Or should I just keep upping vcore. Dont really want to go way higher for the same clock speed. Even though it will be a little faster.

the main two voltages to look at are cpu vcore and qpi/vtt. the should be within .5 v of each other from what I have read.

I'm looking at your settings again and nothing looks out of place, I have a different board so things are a little different. At this point I would try just increasing vcore. I'm surprised you got a bsod at those settings as they seem to be pretty good. As I was lowering my vcore today and got to that one point that was too low, LinX stopped, no bsod.

Are you still using 173x23? Try using 200x21 if possible, this will get your ram closer to rated speeds.

Yah I'm still at 23. I'll play around with it tomorrow when the wife is at work. Thanks for the help.

Your temps seem high to me but they depend on the ambient temp in your room.
here it is,,

50 times of ibt.
is that stable 100% ??

about the temps,

I got a 950. It's still sealed. Can you tell by the batch # if it's going to overclock well?

I call 50 runs of IBT stable yes! Nothing else you will do will give that kind of temps you should be fine.

What we know so far with the 950 is there isn't really any gem to speak of. Pretty much a hit and miss thing unlike the 920. Two CPUs can have the same batch, one will OC really good while the other one really sucks. You just have to open yours and try it. Who knows, yours could OC like crazy.
Off to another subject. Do we really need Hyperthreading? Typically, disabling Hyperthreading results in a better OC, correct?
