hehe cool let me know what you manage to squeeze out of it m8

the samsung ram on our pcb are really good i know. you'll properly be able to get 1300 mhz+ on those. the gpu varies but some place between 900-950 mhz properly.

Tomorrow, I'll OC the **** out of that card

Truly, thanks to you, I finally feel like having fun on that card. When I got it, I didn't thought I'd OC it much... but it was just too tempting. So hitting the voltage wall so early was really annoying... now it's gone!

yeah it's annoying not being able to change the voltages I properly want to sell this card in half a year or so once the 28nm cards arrive. so im not really up for any hard mod

btw. MacA remember that our card have no heatsinks on the ram with the stock cooler. so i don't know how much is to much. the stock cooler has it so the fan blows directly at the rams. i ran an oc for a while just stock so you're properly good

Don't worry about that, the stock cooler is loooooong gone. I'm using the cooler in my sig. With it the card won't pass 60C even when it's hot outside (it's usually around 45C ingame). The cooler comes with VRM heatsinks, so it's all good =D.

oh lol didnt even look properly at your sig my bad

Note: it has just come to my attention that a new oc tool is out. still in beta but able to
raise the voltage on a lot of the none reference cards out there try this before going
on to flashing your cards

dear all,

I'm the owner of HP envy 17 notebook with ati 5850 mobility card. looking for a help how to increase VOLTAGE))) thank you in advance... what i have for the moment,

the max I can go with 0.9V(default) is 550/1025 (500/900 -stock, but normally should be 625/1000) and get 11700 in 3dmark06 in my case))

but according to other note owner, like dell alienware m15x with 5850, they have more then 1.0V and get change to 1.15V with good cooling.. so in the end they modify core/memory up to 900/1100 (crazyy people)..so finally reach >14000 in 3dmarks06..

so, my tries to increase of Voltage was unsuccessful, with flashed modified vbios i still have 0.9V

wanted fo flash vbios from other company, like dell or msi, but "^^^ i second this, flashing it with dell bios may brick it. i know i tried to flash a dell bios on a clevo card and bricked it."

it less risky to flash hp vbios of 5870..but i can't find hp 5870 vbios..

any other options for HP envy owner??? hellppp plzzz

hmm not many dumps of mobility 5850/5870 cards out there i think but take a look here
or just google and find some for yourself but be sure to make a backup of your original bios first:

the brand of the bios doesnt really matter. if you find a better bios use it.

also try out trixx if you havent already.

Thanks for your guide. I managed to pump my XFX5850 (Non-Ref) HD-585X-ZNFC more than it should. Previously I can only go up till 775/1125, but now I'm at 850/1200 and could go more. The Voltage can be increased too.

Using TRIXX atm

that's cool m8. i use Crysis WARHEAD Benchmark Tool at max detail and furmark to be pretty sure im stable. but the real test comes wenn you start to game. try out lots of different games..that's the only way you will be 100% sure that your oc is good.

lol then again you could just start gaming right away but it's just not very fun to crash in the middle of a great game

How would I flash 2 gpus in crossfire? And how does this affect features such as eyefinity?

I have the XFX 5850 ZNFC.. Same card you have, what is the best bios to use? Since you already went through so many of them, I'd rather not reinvent the wheel.
