Pentium D build

Thread Starter
Hey guys i stumbled across this pentium d dualie:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116001

Im gonna build a folding rig with that (im folding for Glueeater right now). I need 1gig of ram (so i can run two instances of folding 512MB each instance); i have an 80gig hd and i need a good mobo for under $90 that can oc that pentium d to about 3ghz per core. And what kinda psu would i need to power this rig? I need it to be stable so i can install linux on it and let it fold for a few months straight. Thx! My budget limit is about $320.

yes im including the cpu in the budget; i just want this rig for folding like i said so im not gonna spend that much on it

btw pauldovi that asus board may have problems with my dualie thats what some ppl said in the reviews

this is the board i was gonna get originally: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131565

at least it supports ddr400 and that'll be cheaper for my small budget

here we go:

Newegg.com reviews should be taken with a grain of salt. I have done a 805 build with that motherboard and it is a great motherboard. If you intent to overclock the folding rig (3.0Ghz or so) that would be the board to go with. BTW- The DDR2 memory is cheaper.
